The Pinnacles at Berea College Forest

Berea College owns and manages roughly 9,000 acres of forest east of town — one of the oldest managed private forests in the country — and opens its Indian Fort Mountain trail network to the public for free. The trails climb to a series of sandstone pinnacles with some of the best views in central Kentucky.

Beyond town, Berea is a gateway to the wider region — the Daniel Boone National Forest and the Red River Gorge are both within about an hour's drive, making Berea a great base camp for exploring eastern Kentucky.
