Owsley Fork Reservoir

Berea's quiet water-supply lake, popular for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing.

About this trail

Owsley Fork Reservoir is Berea's water-supply lake and one of the area's most peaceful outdoor escapes. Gas motors are restricted, which keeps the water calm and quiet — perfect for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and fishing for bass and bluegill. Surrounded by the wooded ridges of the Berea  College Forest, the lake feels far more remote than its short drive from town suggests. Mornings are glassy and often foggy; evenings bring herons and kingfishers along the banks.
