Berea Independent Schools
Berea's own small city district serves students on a single connected campus on Pirate Parkway, giving it a tight-knit, community feel from kindergarten through graduation. The district's small size means small class sizes and teachers who know every student.

One of Kentucky's larger county districts, serving Berea addresses outside the independent district's boundary as well as the surrounding rural communities. Berea-area students typically feed into Madison Southern High School.

Berea College is nationally known for charging no tuition — every admitted student receives a full Tuition Promise Scholarship and works at least 10 hours a week through the college's labor program. Founded in 1855, it was the first interracial and coeducational college in the South, and it primarily serves academically promising students with limited financial resources, especially from Appalachia.
