About this trail

East Pinnacle is the go-to sunrise hike in central Kentucky. The route follows the main Pinnacles trail before branching east, rolling along the ridgeline through mature forest to a broad rock outcrop facing east over the knobs. On clear mornings the view stretches for miles as fog lifts out of the valleys. Allow two to three hours round trip and bring a headlamp if you're starting before dawn. The trail is well-marked but rocky in the upper sections — sturdy shoes recommended.
